During the 2018 Russia World Cup, football dominated global attention while the political context of the host country, particularly its anti-LGBTQ+ legislation, remained part of the public conversation surrounding the event. In this context, we created a campaign built around a letter about love addressed directly to Vladimir Putin, questioning why affection and love should ever be regulated according to identity.
The message didn’t go unnoticed. Shortly after the campaign aired, the Russian Embassy in Argentina sent an official letter questioning the campaign.
